ACE SPELLING COMPETITION FINALS AND AWARD

​Glamour Event & Publicity in conjunction with Arbico Parrot set for the finally round of the 2016 Adeyemi College of Education Spelling Competition with a different innovation. 
The final stage of 2016 Edition of the Spelling Competition which is set to hold on the 31st of july 2016 with 21 Participants, as they slug it out for the ten position needed at the grand finale in Akure. 
The final is set to unfold  a glamorous awards of three different categories, which are:
  1. The best graduating Student.
  2. Man of the year.
  3. Most influential Person.
The organiser believe in the voice of the people as they create an open door policy for people to nominated the best of the best. 
Procedure for Nomination:
  1. Go to facebook then search for ACE GLAMOUR , like the page ,then drop the name of your nominee in the inbox.
  2. Nomination should contain the Name of the Nominee and the Award he/she is nominated for Example: Mark Zuckerberg for Man of the year.
NB: Best graduating student must be a Degree 4 or Nce 3 student
The Ticket for the final is 200 naira. The final promises to be full of fun, excitment and what have you, you cant afford to miss this once in a lifetime opportunity.

ACE SPELLING COMPETITION ORIENTATION.


Held on Saturday 2nd of July 2016 @ the upper lecture theatre.
Participants/Guest have their seats.

The event kick off at exactly 10:00am, The National Anthem was taken after the Opening prayer and comr. Ayodele Julius ,Managing director of Ace Glamour was introduced to take the Welcome address, The event was anchored by maryilicious and Emma tallest daraloye of Arbico parrot. After which Rotr. hon Ola Adene the Ceo of GEP was introduced to tell us more about GEP and Ace Glamour, and this is what he said
.
"Glamour Events and Publicity (GEP) is a company established majorly for organising events(social, corporate and educational events) and doing publicities such as hype and advertisement, Ace Glamour(a brand of Glamour Events and Publicity) is an information and events based company in Adeyemi College Of Education. A vast initiative connecting students together with the happenings, events and news on campus.
we also organize corporate and socialite Events for self development and entertainment respectively.
Our Goals/Objectives:
Keeping students informed at all times about news, happenings, events, opportunities ,bursaries, scholarships e.t.c.
Organizing educative events for students like tutorials, workshop, seminars, prayers and so on.
Supporting students' business on campus through hype and publicity
Creating huge networking among students.
Organizing entertainment/socialite events for students.
ACE GLAMOUR is a registered brand in Adeyemi College Of Education.”

The participant were also giving the Analysis of ‪#‎spellGlamour2016‬
-The competition is divided into 5 Stages:
1.) Orientation Stage: At this stage, every speller is educated about the rules and regulations of the competition, expected areas to constitute pool of words, the time frame for spelling a word and how winning or eviction is determined among others. Also, the spellers get to meet the Panellists at this stage.
2.) Preliminary Stages: At this stage, the contest begins. Time span for this stage is determined by number of spellers, but it will take not more than 2 Days.
3.) Semi-Final Stages: At this stage, spellers are competing to make the 30-People List to qualify to the Final.
4.) Final: At this stage, the winner gets #50,000 cash prize and the nearest nine(9) gets gift prizes worth #4,000 each. However, the 10(ten) of them gets medals which qualifies them for the Grand Finale.
5.) Grand Finale: At this stage, The Top 10 Spellers from all potential institutions competes for the Grand Prize of Ondo State Campus Spelling Competition #SpellGlamour2016 to hold in the State's Capital, Akure.
The word pool was also unveiled, the participant were informed to expect words starting with the following letters G,L,A,M,O,U,R for the preliminaries and the semi-finals, participant are also informed to expect words from politics,society ,medical,religion,agriculture and at the final stage the participant were ask to come with a team consisting of a minimum of 20 members and a maximum of 100 members, the team are to serve as a life line for each contestant in case they were unable to spell a word correctly, their team will be permitted to spell the words on behave of the contestant and if spelt correctly the contestant get his/her point and still remains in the contest, and vice -versa.
The CEO of Gbenga Adene and Associates ,Arch. Gbenga Adene was introduced to give the contestant the rule and regulation guiding the competition.
RULES & REGULATIONS
-The Pronouncer announces the word to be spelled first.
-The Pronouncer can only repeat the word twice, if asked by the Speller.
-The Pronouncer gives the meaning; and origin of the word and uses it in a sentence, if asked by the Speller.
-When the Speller is sure of the word, the Speller pronounces the word and spells it loudly for the panel.
-The Speller is expected to spell the words in ONE Minute; then pronounce the word again.
-The Speller could edit the spelling before pronouncing the word again, but this would only be allowed within the allocated time.
-The Panel/Judges determine whether or not a word was spelled correctly.
-A Speller is expected to spell at least THREE WORDS in the preliminaries.
-If a correct spelling is given, the Speller barges FIVE POINTS.
-If a wrong spelling is given, the next speller is expected to spell the particular word.
-A Speller is not permitted to write down the words before spelling.
-Usage of mobile phones by the spellers are not allowed.
-Every Speller is expected to get a FAN TEAM of minimum of 20 persons each.

How to manually connect your Windows 7 and 8 device to the College Wi-fi (AFUED-WIFI)

NOTE: Please note that your username is your Matriculation Number without the slash e.g MAT123014 , and your password is the password given to you at MIS in the small brown envelope. For Freshers that were not given the small brown Envelope your username is your Matriculation Number without the slash e.g MAT123014 and password is password in lowercase.

Follow the steps outlined below:
1.      Right click on the wireless connection symbol in the lower right corner of the desktop and select Open Network and Sharing Center.

2.      On the next screen, click Set up a connection or network.

3.      From the Set up a connection or network window, select Manually connect to a wireless network. Click Next.

4.      In the Manually connect to a wireless network window, enter the following:
a. Network name: AFUED-WIFI
b. Security type: WPA2-Enterprise (if available - otherwise WPA Enterprise)
c. Encryption type: AES
d. Confirm that Start this connection automatically is checked.
e. Click Next.

5.      A second Manually connect to a wireless network window displays indicating that you have successfully added AFUED-WIFI. Click Change connection setting.

6. An AFUED-WIFI Wireless Network properties window displays. Click on the Security tab and verify that the following are selected:
a. Security type: WPA2-Enterprise
b. Encryption type: AES
c. Under Choose a network authentication method select Protected EAP (PEAP)
d. Also verify that Cache user information for subsequent connections to this network is checked.
e. Click on the Settings tab.

7. A Protected EAP Properties window displays.
·         Uncheck Validate server certificate.
·         Uncheck Enable Fast Reconnect, Enable Quarantine checks, and Disconnect if server does not present cryptobinding TLV.
·         Under Select Authentication Method, verify that Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2) is selected.
·         Click Configure.

8. An EAP MSCHAPv2 Properties window displays.
·         Uncheck Automatically use my Windows logon name and password.
·         Click OK.
·         Close out of all remaining dialog boxes by clicking OK or Close.

9. If you have successfully completed this process an alert will display from your system tray (next to the time display on your task bar). Click inside the alert to validate your credentials.

10. In the Enter Credentials window, enter your User name and Password. Do not enter a Logon domain. Click OK.

11. At any time, you may hover over the wireless connection icon located in your system tray to verify that you are connected.

Admission letters for Degree II- IV on JAMB Website ready for printing, 22ND August, 2016


The admission letters for Degree II and IV students that have willingly paid the prescribed fee of Five Thousand Naira (N5, 000.00) would be ready for printing on JAMB Website as from August 22nd, 2016.
This information was contained in a circular issued from the office of the Deputy Registrar, Division of Admission, Mr. P.A Okunniga dated 22nd June, 2016 and copied to all Principal Officers of the College including the Provost, Prof. Olukoya Ogen; Registrar, Mr. Felix Aderinboye; Acting Librarian, Mr Akinade Awoyemi; Bursar, Mr Ganiyu Abdul.
Also copied were Deans / Directors, Heads of Department/Units, School Officers, Principal Assistant Registrar, Information and Public Relations Unit; Dean, Student Affairs as well as President, Students’ Union.
Similarly, a copy of the circular was also pasted on all notice boards placed in strategic positions in the College for the attention of students.
